Redirecting Children's Behavior Course

"Redirecting Children's Behavior" is strongly influenced by the work of Rudolf Dreikurs, MD., author of the highly acclaimed book "Children: The Challenge". The course, developed by Kathryn Kvols author of the book "Redirecting Children's Behavior" is a 15-hour powerful, high-impact, life-changing option that teaches proven principles and practical skills to parents and teachers to help build children’s self-esteem, encourage cooperation and develop a sense of responsibility. All of this is accomplished through the positive use of discipline. The objective is to use and view discipline as a positive and motivating tool to teach children self-control rather than instill fear. Creative ideas & specific skill sets will be demonstrated for handling everyday situations such as temper tantrums, aggression, helplessness, etc. Three-hour course for 5 weeks. Classes meet one day a week.

The RCB courses are held in both Washington DC and Atlanta Metro areas. Check out our calendar to find one that works with your schedule. Contact us to set up a course to offer directly to your group, school or organization.

Challenges Facing Children and Families:

The average child in America receives only 12.5 minutes per day in communication with his/her parents. On the average a child receives 400 negative comments compared to only 32 positive comments per day. In a study of children ages 1-12, the single most important determinant of children's self-esteem is the perception of how much they are valued by their parents.
